2 Phrases that make me laugh...almost every time!
They say laughter is the best medicine. I can't promise you that that's true, but I can tell you it can do wonders for a person. There are a lot of things that make me laugh daily, many of which are said (or done) by one of my three kids or my husband, but these two phrases almost always make me laugh and neither of them were originated by my kids or husband!
1. "Pelvic Sorcery". I don't know what it was about it, but the first time I heard it in Guardians of the Galaxy, I laughed my butt off! I laughed in anticipation and for the line when we watched it the second time. Now, my husband and kids happily through that phrase around whenever i need a good laugh.
2. "Here comes another beautiful contraction." - Remember, neither of these were originally said by my kids or husband, but this was originally said to me. I was in labor with my second child, my oldest daughter. I wasn't given any pain medication and I was in a lot of pain. I don't remember how dilated I was, but I know that I had made it to at least 5 (I think more like 7 or something) and I was stuck. My princess's heart rate was showing distress and the midwife was trying to help me progress, but I was in so much pain that I couldn't appreciate the reasoning for what was happening... I just wanted her to stop! After asking her to stop more then once, I was ready to scream. I had an image of fighting back, an image that, I guess, my body was all too happy to respond to and my leg went up. My best friend was in the room at the time and she saw what was happening. When she saw that my foot was starting to aim toward the midwife's face, she did the only thing she could think to do...she pulled my attention away from the midwife and to her by putting a smile on her face and saying, in a voice way more cheerful then the situation warranted, "Here comes another beautiful contraction." Bu the time the sentence was uttered, I was right in the middle of a contraction and I did not see what was so beautiful about it. Of course now the phrase "beautiful contraction" makes me laugh and has continued to be the running joke. I even texted my best friend about her "beautiful contractions" when she had her youngest two children since she now lives states away and I wasn't able to be there when they were born.
So there you go. Two phrases that always make me laugh. Now I've just got to hear what phrases/words make you laugh! Let us know in the comments!
