I can't remember a time in my life when stories weren't a central part to my very being. Even before I could read (I was late to the club), I was imagining and make up stories. When I was at my lowest, I turned to my books and my stories to help me through. And, as I got older, I learned one of the most important lessons of my life; we all have stories. We are all authors of our own biographies and those stories are just as valuable and life changing as any story found in a book or on T.V.
As I grew older, I knew that, one day, I wanted to own a book store full of stories. I wanted a place for those who love stories to go where there was something for everyone and the most important things weren't profit or fame, but people and the stories they live in, no matter the medium and including experience. It has taken me years, but I have arrived, with streamers and poppers and even balloons! Our new chapter together is beginning now and PG's Storybook Emporium is our medium!
I've thought long and hard. I've dreamed and dreamed and through those dreams was birthed this lost and found of sorts. This is where stories, and the pieces of stories go to be found again when they think they have been lost. Our "isles" (or tabs) will be filled with a collection of books both used and new with everyone in mind. Our trinkets will be a collection of primarily thrift store finds that inspire me, or prove to be, in some way, a celebration of stories. These are ingredients in the recipes to a life full of a love, appreciation and creation of stories from forgotten to tales of epic proportions and everything in between! These are the makings of a well deserved date night...with our books/movies/video games and/or music.
So consider this your hug of welcome with a great big side of thank you! Thank you for joining me on this journey! Thank you for being a part of my story. Thank you for being here.
Let our story together begin!
