The numerous Year One's (Started with Frank Miller's Batman Year One) are amazing reimaginings of the stories we thought we knew. And that's always what's so great about them...we THOUGHT we knew.
This is a series set in a Gotham That Was rapidly turning into Gotham That Is.
Are there characters? Of course. Slam Bradley, one of the best noir characters the Bat-verse ever created. There's the Waynes.
But you never knew the whole story. If you're brave enough, look into a history of how the best of us can have the worst in them.
