Books & Brews: Sally with a Tea

The Pairing: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen with Hibiscus tea

The Book:

Long Live the Pumpkin Queen by Shea Ernshaw is the first in the Pumpkin Queen series, though honestly, Hour of the Pumpkin Queen by Megan Shepherd would also be a good match with Hibiscus Tea.

The Pumpkin Queen series follows Sally. Long Live the Pumpkin Queen starts just after Jack and Sally’s marriage. After their honeymoon, the two are thrust back into Halloween planning as the holiday is just around the corner. But when Sally gets overwhelmed and explores in the woods, she soon learns that actions have consequences and sometimes, the consequences can have perminet. How will she save Jack and all of her friends in Halloween town?

In Hour of the Pumpkin Queen, Sally struggles to find her footing as the Pumpkin Queen when chaos strikes again and Sally is left to navigate a world of doors to places she’s never been in hopes of both finding her way and save Halloween Town from an unknown and mysterious threat.

Why this match?

Sally finds her self the only one who is not rendered in a magical sleep in the first book. In the second, Sally visits a very sleepy town. It feels like a cozy, sleepy drink perfect for these fun fairy tale books.
