While they boil down sap from their maple trees to make syrup, Grandfather Howard tells his granddaughter about the worse fire he has ever known. The fire happened when Howard was a child, living on the very same farm.A farm nearby caught fire and the fire spread. Howard, his family and neighbors, tried to put the fire out but the fire kept going. I may have spread through the whole province if it wasn’t for the rain. Soon after the rain, it snowed.
