Going for the goal in 2020!

Like so many others, I usually make new years resolutions around the start of the new year, but this year, I decided to do something a little different.

I guess it started when my husband started asking us what our goals for 2020 were going to be. I didn't think much of it, but then he said he liked the verbiage of "goals" rather then "resolution" and I couldn't help but agree! But it didn't stop there.

When I thought about what I wanted to achieve in the upcoming year, I just kept thinking, "I want to do better." But what does that mean? How do I ask friends and family to help keep me accountable and working toward those goals? And how could I expect anyone else to understand if I couldn't even define what "do better" meant? So, I set out to find the definition for myself.

Long story short, I ended up with more then just a sentence, "Do better," but what has become my motto for 2020.

So, what does that mean?

Honestly, I think that's a trick question because I think it means something different for us all. For me, it's a big, tall order. It means working on my weaknesses to make them strengths and working on my strengths to make them stronger. I means believing in myself and my ideas and following through with them. It means going for what I want. And it means finding balance in my life again both professionally and personally. I know, it still sounds so broad, but trust me, it's coming together!

Implementing this started with a new business plan highlighting what I wanted to accomplish with the Emporium in 2020 and how to go about actually doing it. I thought about what my dreams are and how to do the good in the world I so want to do. How can I share my love of stories, create positivity and make smiles? And how do I create a life that for myself with all of those things? That's what "Do better. Be better and Become better."means to me, embarking on the path to achieving my dreams and being the person I am proud to be!

This year is going to be fun and I'm excited to invite you all along for the ride! (check out P.G's Storybook Emporium all over social media for 1st class tickets! I'll leave links at the bottom of this post)
